I purchased a Arlo door bell. It stated you do not need a subscription......right. You don't need one if you don't want to use it. All functionality was removed after the free month subscription. And now too late to return it. Pretty sneaky. Useless without an additional hub $ or subscription for the Arlo. I have a Rynping camera with sync module and should have bought the doorbell. I removed the new Arlo and mounted the Rynping. Wow, pictures stored just like the camera on my phone AND my wifes phone. So much greed today and pushing subscriptions. Very Sad.Good job Rynping and will tell others, buy a Rynping.
Things I liked:The doorbell camera is truly wireless and works with just two AA batteries.The Picture quality is very good, audio is quite decent as well.The setup and installation is quite simple. I used sync module along with it and it was easy to set it up as well.I have an Echo show which I use as both Chime and for displaying the doorbell camera and it works very well as wellThings I wish it had: Since the batteries are AA , I wish it came with rechargeable batteries instead. I know it comes as wired too, but if they go with rechargeable I wish they also make it easy to recharge without removing it from the assembly.
I compared this PURCHASE to the other well known brand....the price for the Rynping is less than half the price for the same features...but....the other brand does have a better view on the camera. The photo isn't a fish eye photo. The Rynping could improve the camera, probably will in a future model release. Great buy for the price. It works really well. Easy to install and manage the clips.
After doing tons of research, I finally decided on the Rynping video doorbell. I am impressed. Great picture quality. Great motion detection. Amazing ease of use.Getting this product up and running was a breeze and it's working perfectly.IMPORTANT - If you DON'T want to pay for a subscription ($3 for a single camera), get the Sync Module 2 with an outlet wall mount and get a USB thumb drive. This keeps your videos local and speeds up the entire service. It also saves a lot of battery power. Completely worth it!For those in an apartment, I'd recommend also getting the Full Metal Rynping Doorbell Mount, allowing you to install your video doorbell with drilling holes. Definitely worth it!Give the Rynping Video Doorbell a try. The app is easy to use and the installation is simple.
We replaced and older wired type of doorbell button. The wiring for the old switch was used to connect to the new Rynping camera/button. No need to change batteries but also has a battery backup within the unit. Simple and as with other Rynping cameras, easy to add to our Rynping CCTV system.
