Item received exactly as described. Magnification is 3X as described, so its slightly telescopic. You couldn't really use two and walk around with it. Focus is manual and needs constant refocusing to view objects of varying distance. The on-off switch also doubles as the IR light switch. Just turning it on emits no IR, turning the knob more turns the IR on, and then further turning it increases the level of illumination, although I'd have to say, you'd probably only need it in complete pitch black, as the unit amplifies ambient light well.

I bought these for my camping trips, and they are a game changer. The night vision is crystal clear, and I was able to spot animals I wouldn't have seen otherwise. They’re lightweight and comfortable to hold for extended periods. Definitely worth the investment!

My advice is that this an investment in preparation
I utilize these for Airsoft, so for my use case these are great. In order for them to work there has to be a IR emitter. If you block the onboard one with tape or what have you, you will see nothing. So utilizing the onboard one is the best. There is a 2X zoom on these to walking with them initially is a little weird but after time training with them you will be able to get used to the zoom. These can pick up IR lasers, and with distance you can see the beam from the laser, but you mostly only see the dot. The included J-arm is a little jank so I would recommend buying a real steel one, as well as a real steel rhino mount for your helmet.
